T-UK Black Belt Grading
On 21st May 2021 Master Archer and Master Ridley drove to Scotland for a Black Belt grading, the first in over a year since this Covid Pandemic paralysed the country. As the trip up was made in good time, the student who were testing were offered a chance of a quick training session to try to ease the nerves.
The following day the testing took place. First up were the star grades. The grading took place in T-UK HQ in Scotland, a brand new training center run by Mr Condie
A full syllabus was undertaken and social distancing was observed at all times.
The star grades performed to a very high standard and both Master were very impressed with what they saw. Next up were the black tags, taking their full black belt test. Students have had to wait a long time for this day and they certainly didn’t disappoint. in both sessions, the standard and commitment was through the roof.
A huge thanks to Mr. David Condie and Mr. Martin Risk for assisting on the day and also to the T-UK Scotland seniors. It was great to see everyone.
On Sunday 23rd May Master Archer and Master Ridley travelled to Manchester for the North Region grading. The grading was hosted this time by Mr. Miley. Due to the Covid restriction still in place, only small numbers of student were allowed into the academy in Sale at one time.
Again we started with star grades. A full syllabus was undertaken with all contact work being done at a distance, due to local requirements.
Next up were the black tags, grading to Black Belt. Again the standard and the commitment were high and the two Masters were very pleased with what they saw.
Everyone had waited such a long time for this grading the the joy on everyone’s faces was there to be seen. Again, all aspects of the syllabus as performed and social distancing was followed all the way through.
The final group to take the stage was the senior black belts taking full grades
A big thank you to Mr. James Miley for all his help and support. It was really nice to visit both areas and start some level of training and testing again.
We would like to thank all for their efforts and standards and hope to see you all in the not too distant future.
